CarrierTrail product & support

Carrier approval decision evidence

Preserve the source observations and reasoning associated with an explicit team decision.

Save what supported the decision

When your team saves an explicit carrier decision, CarrierTrail preserves a decision evidence record with the available census snapshot, saved filing observations, note and reviewer identifier. This lets a later reviewer understand what was available when that decision was made.

Separate history from the current view

New source observations and later note changes can make the current carrier view different from an older decision. Earlier evidence is not rewritten to match the latest page. Decisions made before evidence capture was introduced are not reconstructed after the fact.

Export the right record

The decision JSON export is tied to the selected historical review. The watchlist CSV is a current operational list and serves a different purpose. Label an evidence export by carrier, decision date and intended use so colleagues do not confuse a present-day list with last month’s review.

Explain what the evidence contains

The export contains the public snapshots available to the app and the saved decision context. It does not independently verify an insurance contract or add confirmations your team obtained elsewhere. Its checksum can help detect a changed file; it is not an independent certification of the underlying source data.

A carrier review from first lookup to follow-up

Illustrative workflow: your team receives a carrier packet. The USDOT matches, but the phone on the packet differs from the reported census phone. That mismatch is a question to resolve, not a fraud verdict.

  1. Find the identity: search USDOT or MC and compare the legal name, address and source date.
  2. Resolve the question: review contact connections and official filings; record the independent confirmation you obtained.
  3. Preserve the decision: save Needs review until the question is resolved, then document the reason for your decision.
  4. Follow later observations: keep the carrier active on the watchlist and enable verified email alerts. A later published change prompts another review.

Daily source checks depend on successful imports and source publication. CarrierTrail does not provide real-time approval, guarantee insurance coverage or share other customers’ rejection decisions.

Starter: 100 active carriers and two members. Team: $99/month, 500 active carriers and five members. Paid access starts after confirmed payment.
