Company Census
The public lookup and directories use a saved copy of the FMCSA Company Census dataset. The snapshot used for these directory pages was published 2026-09-13 12:46 UTC. It contains active, inactive and other census records, not just currently authorized freight carriers. The live lookup uses the latest available official FMCSA census data and shows its date.
Published authority and insurance filings
Selected public profiles collect separate daily snapshots, independently of customer watchlists, from the same sources. The private workspace checks the Motus authorities dataset and Motus insurance dataset. Rows are preserved separately. Complete, fresh observations can be compared with the prior baseline. Missing, stale, failed or truncated checks do not replace that baseline as complete evidence.
Directory calculations
State pages select records present in the official FMCSA census data with a reported U.S. physical location in the named state. Counts are records, not a count of available trucks or verified operating carriers. Cities use reported city text; spelling variations are not merged. Reported fleet values can contain outliers, so these pages do not publish fleet-size totals or largest-fleet rankings. Selected city pages also show city-specific record counts, reported power-unit distributions, and up to 20 sample records with census status A and 1–100 reported power units. The fixed city selection covers five leading cities by record count per state in the selection snapshot; it is not redrawn each day. City matching is case-insensitive but spelling variants remain separate. The daily build checks that all fleet-size bands reconcile to each city total. Each state shows five records reporting 1–100 power units, selected by sorting the MD5 hash of the USDOT number, then the USDOT number. This stable sample is not a recommendation or validation.
Contact matching and private records
Workspace contact matching compares normalized phone numbers and exact normalized physical addresses. It may miss differently written or unreported relationships. Public pages and lookup responses use an explicit set of public source fields. Every available USDOT record can be opened directly. A selection of 7,000 profiles with complete identity, contact, fleet and cargo details is included in the sitemap; selection is not an endorsement or ranking. Other carrier detail pages carry noindex. Profiles removed from the latest snapshot or missing the selection fields are removed from the sitemap on the next successful refresh. They do not include team watchlists, private notes, decisions, account emails or evidence exports.
Cargo and fleet reports
Cargo directories and reports count source cargo flags marked X. Categories overlap and do not establish trailer type or verified capability. Seventy reports cover thirty-five states selected by record count. State fleet bands reconcile to the state record total. Cargo/location pages use ten eligible USDOT examples from their named state or city. They are not a representative national sample or an endorsement.
Freshness and corrections
Census imports and watched-carrier filing checks are scheduled daily. Scheduled checks are not real-time monitoring. Directory pages rebuild from official FMCSA census data and show the source date; if a refresh fails, the prior dated version remains visible.
