Start a paid CarrierTrail workspace with a clear owner

Prepare ownership, plan capacity and billing before inviting the review team.

Updated 2026-09-13 · CarrierTrail product workflow

Choose the responsible account

Use an account controlled by the person responsible for the workspace and billing. Review plan capacity against the active carriers and members you expect to maintain. Creating an account alone does not establish paid workspace access; finish the checkout flow and check the resulting billing status.

Confirm access before handing off

After payment, open the workspace and confirm the selected plan is reflected in Billing. Use individual memberships for colleagues rather than circulating the owner password. If checkout and access disagree, preserve the relevant time and displayed status for support without sharing card details or credentials.

Illustrative example

An owner creates an account and assumes the team can begin monitoring immediately. Check whether checkout completed and the workspace shows paid access before inviting colleagues to rely on alerts. Keep billing questions separate from carrier approval decisions.

Workspace launch checklist

Responsible owner: __. Selected plan: __. Expected active carriers/members: __. Checkout completed: __. Billing status checked: __. Team invitations: __. Support question, if any: __.

Worked review example

Illustrative scenario. A broker chooses a plan before checking how many carriers and teammates need active access. Another colleague already has a workspace under a different name. A short setup review can prevent duplicate workspaces and confusion about who manages the subscription.

A practical review sequence

Plan

Count the carriers that need active monitoring and the people who need access. Compare those needs with the current plan limits on the pricing page.

Identify

Confirm the intended workspace owner and whether an existing workspace should be used. Keep billing ownership separate from the carrier approval process.

Verify

After checkout, confirm access to the intended workspace and check its billing status. Then configure the team's first review and notification responsibilities.

What to put in the review record

Record the workspace name, owner, selected plan and the person responsible for membership and billing changes. Keep payment details out of carrier notes and shared research worksheets.

Before closing this review

Successful payment is only one setup step. A usable workspace also needs clear review ownership, the correct carrier identities and an agreed process for handling later observations.

What should be confirmed after checkout?

Confirm that the intended owner can access the correct workspace and that its billing status and selected plan match the setup decision. Then assign review and notification responsibilities before adding a large list of carriers. This separates account setup from carrier onboarding and helps avoid several colleagues creating parallel workspaces for the same team. Keep the account ownership and billing instructions in the team's administrative record.

How should a team choose between plans?

Compare the current published carrier and member limits with the work that needs active monitoring. Use the pricing page for current amounts and limits rather than relying on an old screenshot or copied guide.
